One of the most anticipated movies of the year, Black Panther isn’t released until next, but Fandango has also reported that it has smashed the ticket site’s record for Marvel movie pre-sales in the films first 24 hours.
Wesley Snipes first mentioned his intention to work on a Black Panther film in 1992, with that project going through multiple iterations over the next decade but never coming to fruition. However, now A Black Panther film has been announced as one of the ten films based on Marvel characters that would be developed by Marvel Studios and distributed by Paramount Pictures in September 2005, with Mark Bailey hired to write a script in January 2011.
“Black Panther is riding an incredible wave of momentum right now”, said Fandango editor Erik Davis. “It’s one of the biggest and most anticipated movies to ever open in the month of February, and its trailers have electrified the internet. Ticket sales have been faster than ever since presale started on Fandango late Monday.”
The all-star cast is predicted to definitely sale out in movies theaters everywhere.
The video also gave us a trippy dream sequence with actual panthers, as well as a preview of Kendrick Lamar’s soundtrack, which already sounds pretty awesome going by its lead single.
