Akron, OH – The Akron Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy after finding drugs and a large amount of cash in his backpack during a traffic stop.
The police pulled the driver over over around 6:30 pm on Tuesday for speeding and also running stop signs, in the area of Thornton and Raymond street in the valley. When the police approached the vehicle, they say the teenager in the backseat, along with his backpack.
Upon searching the backpack, the police found five bags of marijuana and also $46,000 in cash.
The driver, Torrod Hopson, 28-years-old, was cited for reckless operations and driving under suspension, and the vehicle was also towed. The teen was charged with trafficking in drugs and possession of marijuana.
