Reporting in the news today, a Summit County Sheriff’s deputy is accused of stealing more than $40,000 from a senior citizen over the course of three years.
Detectives arrested Teresa Hill, 42, for theft from elderly on Monday. She’s been a deputy for 15 years. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said it was contacted earlier this year by the Summit County Adult Protective Services after it received a complaint about a theft offense against a senior citizen. The Summit County Adult Protective Services contacted the sheriff’s office about the alleged theft in March. Authorities started an investigation and found the crimes began in January 2015.
Teresa Hill was placed on paid administrative leave until their investigation is concluded.
