Akron Is Fighting Hunger For Thanksgiving This Year

Akron, OH – Since 1863 (after Lincoln declared Thanksgiving a national holiday), families have been coming together to celebrate the things they have and what they are thankful for on the fourth Thursday of the month of November. Due to the violent acts of the Pilgrims against the Indians, a lot of people choose not to really celebrate “Thanksgiving,” but they still come together to have a family dinner.

What about the people who aren’t as fortunate to have family, friends or even the funds to make a Thanksgiving dinner possible?? Well, this year they will not have to suffer, because some local Akron businesses have teamed up to fight hunger, and put smiles on some people’s faces!

The Thanksgiving giveaway will take place on November 23rd (from 1:00 – 3:00pm) at the Burning Bush Church , located at 131 S. High Street in downtown Akron, OH (Pastor DeJuan Kelker). Their goal is to feed OVER 100 families for Thanksgiving, and they will also be giving away some TV’s, turkeys, groceries, personal care packages and much much more.

This event is sponsored by @RB3 Sports, Burning Bush Church, Access Cares, Genesis Program and Beckhams’s B&M BBQ.

Be sure to come out and support this awesome event! Even if you and your family is not in need, you can come out to be a helping hand to your community.
