Black Panthers & the Black Buying Power

Black Panther earned $108 million on its second Fri-Sun frame, a drop of just 46% from last weekend’s record-crushing $202m Fri-Sun opening.  In terms of raw dollars, it is the second-biggest second weekend gross of all time between Universal/Comast Corp.’s Jurassic World ($106.5m) and Lucasfilm’s The Force Awakens ($149m).  It has now earned $400m in ten days of release, which makes it the third-fastest grosser of all time (for now) behind only Jurassic World ($404m) and The Force Awakens ($540m).  Even if you adjust for inflation, it’s still only behind Warner Bros./Time Warner Inc.’s The Dark Knight, Marvel’s The AvengersJurassic World and The Force Awakens among ten-day domestic totals.

I tell you guys all this to hep you realize we (as black people) have a lot more power than you think.  When it comes to the people who run the world…  $$$ Money is pretty much the common factor.  So just imagine hitting people where it will count most.  In their pockets!

Business owners do not want to lose money.  At the end of the day, the customers really do run the company, because without the customers, there is no business.  If we could really come together to support different businesses and not support certain businesses, then we can really make some things happen.  When people start losing money, it makes them have a different outlook on things.  And if we could really help these business owners realize that we are not a force to be reckoned with, maybe they would start treating us better.

But first things first, we have to come together.  Stop dividing ourselves based on stuff that doesn’t even natter.  Light skin, dark skin… Skinny, fat… Rich, poor… wearing make-up/weave, not wearing make-up/weave… beard gang, or no beard…  We are all apart and have had to deal with the same struggles due to being black in Amerikkka.

Hit them where it hurts… THEIR POCKETS!
