INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY
Council Representative Neal has proposed legislation requesting that the City of Akron change from celebrating Columbus Day to celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day. Other cities have already adopted similar legislation, and the discussion is growing nationwide. To encourage and guide community discussion here in Akron, Councilman Neal encourages residents to listen to a recorded radio program aired on WOSU Radio on Aug. 24.
