I think it’s time for people to go back to health class and relearn about sex & sexually transmitted diseases/infections (STD’s for the purpose in this article). Since 1941, STD’s had been declining for decades BUT for the 5th year in a row, gonorrhea , chlamydia and syphilis have all been on the rise.
In Ohio alone, there were over 25,000 cases reported in 2018.
“2.4 million infections were diagnosed and reported last year alone!” ~ Elizabeth Torrone (CDC epidemiologist)
The CDC claims last year was the highest number of cases they ever recorded, and the reason for the spike in numbers could be due to
- An increase in the number of people being tested (people are more aware of the problems)
- A decline in the number of people using condoms
Just think about it, not too long ago…. we barely ever heard about syphilis anymore. In my opinion, I think it has a lot to do with the mainstream music being played. It seems like all they talk about is money, sex and drugs nowadays. The kids are becoming sexually active younger, and they are also a lot more promiscuous these days (and having sex with both sexes, being “curious”).
But take a look at these stats from the CDC… and I urge you all to
WRAP IT UP!!
