EKR is Joining Rapper T.I. in the Boycott of GUCCI!!!
There has been a lot of talk on social media regarding some of these designer clothing companies using the dreaded “BLACK FACE” as their new trending design. Many people are “TALKING” about it… But rapper T.I. has taken to social media & he is asking all his people to boycott (stop buying) GUCCI! This includes clothing, handbags, belts, shoes, cologne/perfume… everything made by the company!
Now I really want to commend T.I. for taking a stand against a huge clothing giant like Gucci! It’s not always easy to go against the grain… but if you don’t stand for something, then you are bound to fall for anything!
I’ve been hearing so many mixed reviews and opinions from people on social media. A lot of people want to take a stand with T.I. against Gucci, but I also saw (more than a few) people talking about how it doesn’t affect them so they are going to just continue to wear the brand… since they are the ones who paid for the items. Some people even mentioned that T.I. wasn’t going to reimburse them, so they will still be wearing their stuff.
That type of mindset is only going to dig us into a deeper hole as a whole!!! T.I. also mentioned how we (as black people) have the largest buying power in the world! I’m talking about we spend TRILLIONS of dollars as consumers. When you hit people in their pockets (where it really hurts) that’s when you will really get their attention. I don’t care if you’re young or old, rich or poor, fat or skinny… black or white, nobody wants to lose money!
Us here at Ear Kandy Radio have decided to take a stand with T.I. We will not be wearing anything made by Gucci, we won’t be playing any music with the name “Gucci” in the lyrics… we won’t even be playing any Gucci Mane! LOL just playing about the Gucci Mane part, but seriously… we have to let these multi-million dollar companies know that we aren’t going for their BULLSHIT! It’s game over for all those racist designs… we are no longer going for the okie doke!
