From the Bronx’s To Harvard

Swizz Beatz cut his teeth as the young producer who crafted DMX’s “Ruff Ryders’s Anthem” at the tender age of 17. Several hits and business endeavors later, the famed producer has now added another hyphen to his name: Harvard University graduate.

Congratulations are in order for Beatz, who officially earned a degree from Harvard University on Thursday (Nov. 16). Beatz was enrolled in the Harvard University Business School’s Owner/President Management program and shared a heartfelt message on his social media about reaching this milestone.

“Today is graduation day,” he wrote under an old picture of his younger self dressed in a blue cap and gown. “In life we must keep graduating until the end. When I say we must graduate I’m talking about on all levels not just school. He noted that while he isn’t receiving a Master’s degree, he’s still proud of his accomplishment. “This moment is special to me and my family, because many people look up to me and they use my drive to thrive.”

“I was suppose to be gone a long time ago according to some of my old teachers,” he continued. “This one is for you! Blessings! Never shoot people’s dreams down because you don’t have your own!!!!” He concluded his message with the hashtag #fromthebronxtoharvard, which he revealed is actually the title of his upcoming documentary. He didn’t share any details on the documentary but judging from the title, the film will chronicle his experience at Harvard from his acceptance in the program back in 2014 to graduation day.

In a video posted to his social, Swizz wore a black suit with “From The Bronx to Harvard” emblazoned on the back as he walked across the stage to accept his degree. Check out Swizz Beatz’s posts below.
