On Tuesday night Remy Ma answered questions about life after prison and Nicki Minaj in a Facebook Live interview for Buzzfeed’s Another Round podcast.
A large portion of the interview was devoted to discussing Remy’s time in prison Behind bars, she said she learned how to be supportive of other women. “I hated women before I went to prison. I always felt like women were trying to tear each other down,” Remy said to hosts Heben Nigatu and Tracy Clayton.
The rapper said that now she respects and admires her fellow women, unless they cross her. “I think [women] work so much better when we work together,” Remy said. “However, in the event that you piss me off and we become arch enemies, run for cover”
Remy was referring to her now infamous beef with Nicki Minaj. The “Shether” rapper stated that she has said everything that she has to say on the topic. “It’s over. If she wants to say something that’s cool.” When the hosts moved their discussion to the weeks-old diss track “shETHER,” Remy replied that she had said all she had to about the topic. “I don’t regret it, but I’m just not particularly proud of it either,” she said.
The Love and Hip Hop star also took the time to be critical of prison and what it does to people. “It’s designed to be horrible and it’s designed to break you. It’s called a correctional system and a rehabilitation center, but it does not correct anything and it does nothing to rehabilitate you.”
The interview ended on a lighter note, with Remy being asked how she felt about Foxy Brown jumping in on her beef with Nicky. Remy told the audience she had been practicing sign language, and signed, “No comment,” to the crowd.
