Lower Providence Township, PA – Austin Stevens, 29-years-old, has been arrested and charged with the death of his 10 month old daughter.
Authorities were responding to a 911 call about an unresponsive baby. When they arrived to the home, the police found the baby in critical condition, along with her father. The baby was transported to the hospital, where she died shortly after.
A search warrant was issued for Austin’s cell phone and authorities found out that Austin did not call 911 immediately after discovering his daughter wasn’t breathing. Instead, he was texting two women totally unrelated to the condition of his daughter and also searching on google…
- “My baby isn’t breathing”
- “If baby stops breathing”
- “What if you don’t hear baby heart or beat”
The autopsy determined the baby was actually a victim of sexual assault. Austin is a business owner of a construction company, and also an assistant coach for a football team. He is charged with aggravated assault, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse and other charges.
“This case is deeply disturbing. It is hard to imagine this child’s death being any more traumatic. Sexual assault on an infant, followed by inaction by the father to save her life led to her death.”~ Kevin R. Steele – Montgomery County DA
