It’s the start of 2022, and Memphis rapper, Moneybagg Yo, decided it bring in the New Year by breaking bad habits and quitting lean.
Moneybagg Yo posted the news on Twitter about his sobriety. He explains how he is happy and thankful he was able to quit. He thought quitting the drugs and alcohol would mess with his creativity.
Back in 2020, Moneybagg Yo sat down with Rob Markman, and he asked him about the line “too much lean f*ck’n up my kidney” and Moneybagg Yo explained then how he was trying to stop the lean, but like everything else… it’s a process.
He spoke how the lean makes him slow down and he can tell it’s not really good for him. He said he was trying to go the natural route, because he ain’t getting younger.
Congratulations to Moneybagg Yo on his new found sobriety. I think that was a big move for him, and I also think he will encourage a lot of young people to do the same. Happy New Year!
