MVP Basketball Player Romeo Travis is from Akron, OH Too!
I wanted to take a moment to spotlight one of our own, basketball player Romeo Travis who was just named the French League Finals MVP.
Romeo Travis provided a well rounded contribution to his team’s victory by averaging 12.5 points per game, 4.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists through the five matches of the best-of-five series against Monaco. During a crucial game 5, Travis and another teammate (Justin Cobbs) were the only people from either of the battling teams to play more than 30 minutes on the court. Romeo Travis & the LeMans Sarthe won the series 3 games to 2. This was Travis’s third professional title and the second championship under his belt. He also won…
- 2012 Trophy with Hapoel Gilboa Galil
- 2016 French Cup trophy

We are proud of Romeo Travis here at Earkandyradio for not only truly representing the city (and bringing us home a win) but also for the awesome husband and father he is. Romeo Travis definitely changes the stereotypes of a black man. So many times in the media… we see negativity and share the wrong things! But we pride ourselves in giving credit when & where credit is due! Congratulations to you Romeo Travis & we are rooting for you. Continue to be great and do great things.
