Avon, OH – Eric Bates, of Lorain, has been taken into custody after police responded to a shoplifting report. The caller reported a known shoplifter who usually takes electronics was in the store and had ran out with some stolen merchandise.
The police ended up taking Bates into custody (Lorain County Jail) where he was charged with theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing and VIOLATING GOVERNOR’S ORDERS.
As most of us know, Gov. Mike DeWine ordered the people of Ohio to stay home during the covid-19 pandemic, except for essential reasons (reasons related to health and safety, to get necessary services and supplies, outdoor activity, to take care of others or to perform a job deemed essential).
