Rapper T.I. Is Calling For A Blackout July 7th
In response to the police killing George Floyd on Monday May 25, 2020, rapper T.I. is calling for a #BlackOutDay2020 on July 7th.
We, as people of color, need to realize the power we hold. Individually, we are considered a minority, but there is truly power in numbers. Once we can realize that and come together… we will truly begin to build, and things will change. We have to hit “them” where it hurts, and sad to say, their pockets is the best, most effective way! Nobody wants to lose money.
George Floyd was a 46-year-old black man, who we all watched get killed by a racist police officer in Minneapolis! The white officer pinned him down with his knee on his neck (after he had already been handcuffed) and choked him out.
George Floyd, the father of two, was killed because of an alleged counterfeit bill! His last words we saying how his neck hurts, his stomach hurts… everything hurts! I don’t know about you guys, but I am tired of seeing black men die… over and over again, and nothing is happening to the officers. Okay, yes he was fired… but charges need to be filed ASAP!!!
Absolutely 👍 we should do it now until justice is served in these officers.

Federal Legislation changing the way police use force is priority 1. Retraining & legislating new police training techniques requiring them to take cover & negotiate to reach a non violent out come prior to using physical force or gun fire is needed. When deadly force is used it should be used to disarm not to kill. The norm of using deadly force 1st has to changed. Too many people are being murdered. The current standard of police fearing for their life as the standard reason for using deadly force must be dismantled. The code of blue must me dismantled also. The nature of the job of police officer dedicated danger. It is nature of the job along with many other skillsets, such as Fire Fighters; Probation Officers & Correction Officers & mss as you other face danger but don’t have the right to kill. Police Officers fearing for their life is the standard that determines the use of deadly force or, in the alternative, that they thought there was a weapon present. Both rationals simply give the police a license to kill and that must stop. 12 yr old Tamara Rice was shot & killed because he had a toy gun. If, police were required to take cover & negotiate prior to using deadly force they would have learned that Tamara Rice was a child & that he had a toy gun prior to murdering him. This is very wrong and unacceptable. The standard of fearing for their life & the presence of a weapon must be changed. The injustice of murdering unarmed Black people has been documented since in, or about 1992 when an old woman named Elenors Bumpurs was gunned down by police during a housing eviction because she held a knife. Anybody knows a knife is not equal to a gun. The absence of humanity or empathy of officers when engaging citizens that they are sworn to serve & protect must stop. We the people must stop it through legislation. Federal Legislation is needed to change laws governing the rules of police engagement regardless of police forces being state agencies. Schools are state agency that adhere to federal guidelines similarly, police department must be restructured under federal guidelines. A national petition demanding new legislation could be a starting point. In addition, everyone must vote in the up coming elections, not just in the November election but the Senate races are equally as important.
Revenge is God’s he will repay. Changing the laws is the responsibility of “We the People’. God is not going to do for us what we can do for ourselves but, if we take 1 step, God will take 2 steps.
