Suspect Arrested For Unsolved Murders of Akron Women

Akron, OH – Gustave Sapharas, 75 years-old, has been arrested in the connection of aggravated murder and murder of two Akron women back in the 1970’s.

Sapharas was arrested by the Tallmadge police for the stabbing deaths of Karen Louise Bentz in 1970, who was 18 at the time, and Loretta Jean Davis in 1975, who was 21.

The Bentz case was being re-investigated when new evidence developed linking Sapharas to both of the murders. The detectives are happy about the break in a case from over four decades and case would like for families to understand they do not stop trying to solve the murders, no matter how long it has been.
