Thanks To Akron Mayor, There Will Be No Water Shut-Offs For Non-Payment During The Holidays

Akron, OH – Mayor Dan Horrigan is in the holiday spirit, and he wants everyone to be able to enjoy their families without worrying about their water being shut-off. Now this may not sound that significant to you… but for a family in need of a little extra cash, this is heaven sent (especially around the holidays).
“The holidays are a time to celebrate with loved ones. This extended moratorium allows our customers to do just that and maintain their water service throughout the season.” ~Mayor Horrigan

The Akron Water Department services almost 300,000 customers in Summit County (Akron, Fairlawn, Mogadore & some of Cuyahoga Falls, Bath, Springfield, Hudson, Coventry and Copley). The water company will resume with disconnecting accounts of non-paying customers after January 6, 2020.
Kudos to our Mayor, Dan Horrigan. I’m sure a lot of families will be able to take advantage of this holiday moratorium. Sometimes people just need a little extra help, and our Mayor has done that for the people. This moratorium is actually almost double the time it’s been in previous years.
Thank You, I personally am not responsible for a water bill in the city but my father and sister are.
