Uptown Record’s Andre Harrell Has Passed Away

Andre Harrell, founder of Uptown Records and President/CEO of Motown Records has passed away at the age of 59 from unknown causes.

Andre Harrell was definitely a pioneer and a legend in his own right, who left a huge imprint on the music industry. He started off with his own rap career, and played a huge part in the discovery/development of many major artists, including Mary J Blige, P. Diddy, Jodeci, Heavy D, Al B Sure and many more.

Most recently, Diddy hired him as an executive at his Revolt cable network, where he produced an annual music conference. Many celebrities have been expressing their condolences for the late Harrell. He will truly be missed the in the music industry.
