California – Obdulia Sanchez (18 years old at the time of sentencing) was convicted of gross vehicular manslaughter, DUI and child endangerment for the July 21, 2017, crash that killed her 14-year-old sister Jacqueline Sanchez and injured 15-year-old Manuela Seja, and sentenced to 6 years and 4 months in prison.
As if the situation wasn’t sad enough, Obdulia was actually on her phone streaming live while she was recklessly driving drunk, and the entire crash and aftermath was caught on live. What’s even sadder is the fact that instead of calling 911, she continued to stream live & showed all her viewers her sister’s dead body (her head was split wide open).
“I feel like such an idiot. Why did God choose me to be the older sister? I can’t even do my job right. I had so much potential, but I threw it all away because I wanted to look cool and drive carelessly.” Sanchez said in an emotional statement on the day of her sentencing.

Obdulia was released on September 21, 2019, after earning credit for time served while awaiting her sentence and for completing rehabilitative programs in prison.
